Privacy and Local Practice History

With local history enabled, TypeMosaic stores up to 50 completed test summaries in browser localStorage: a random result ID, finish time, passage ID, input-method label, duration, active time, CPM, equivalent WPM, accuracy, correct characters, error count, completed paragraphs, hint setting and scoring version. It also stores your save-history preference. Older results keep their original scores.

Your interface language is also remembered in this browser, so the homepage can open your next test in that language. If browser storage is unavailable, the homepage uses English and you can still choose another language.

What is not stored or uploaded

Raw typing, keystrokes, unfinished candidates and warmup text are not saved to history or sent to Google Analytics. The current speed chart exists in memory and is not saved in history. This build has no accounts, payments or ads. Fonts are served from this site.

Cloudflare Pages hosts this website and may process access logs and security data. If you allow anonymous analytics, the browser loads Google Analytics, which may receive page URLs, referrers, approximate location, and device or browser information. We also count reaching the last Pinyin demo step, a successful untimed try, preparing a practice, timed practice starts and completions, the first correct committed character, and explicit retry or cancel actions. Practice events include interface language, mode, duration, script, hint setting and entry point. Completion only distinguishes whether any correct character was entered; it does not measure learning progress. These events do not include your input, character counts, scores or saved history. Rejecting the prompt prevents the Google Analytics scripts from loading. Your choice is stored in this browser. On browsers with WebMCP, a user-enabled assistant may read the current test state and scores; the tool does not expose raw input or saved history.

Your controls

1. Turn off local history to stop saving new results. Existing results remain until you clear them.
2. Export downloads a JSON copy of the saved summaries. Keep this file private on shared computers.
3. Clear asks you to confirm, then removes this site's practice history. It does not clear other websites or your save preference.
4. Results stay in this browser for this website. They do not sync to other browsers or devices. Clearing site data or closing a private window can remove them; there is no cloud backup.
