A Chinese typing test that follows your input

Practice Chinese typing online with your own Pinyin, Zhuyin or other input method. Choose Simplified or Traditional passages, click to start, and follow the blinking cursor. Correctly matched characters move you forward; a mistake stays marked after correction. Each completed paragraph gives way to the next, so you can focus on the text in front of you.

Start with a 30-second test to check your setup, or choose one, two or five minutes for a longer session. The timer pauses when the passage loses focus and resumes only when you click back in. At the end, review your accuracy, CPM, equivalent WPM and a second-by-second speed chart. Compare like-for-like sessions to understand your own progress.

Before you practice

Does this work with Pinyin and Zhuyin?

Yes. Enable a Chinese input method on your device, then commit Chinese characters. The input-method menu only labels your results; it does not install or switch your keyboard.

Do I need to type punctuation?

Yes. Match every character in order, including Chinese commas, full stops and spaces. A Latin comma does not match a Chinese comma. Correct the character at the cursor to continue; corrected mistakes remain counted.

Why does the timer pause when I click away?

This is an active-time practice test. Losing focus covers the passage and pauses the countdown. Click the passage to resume. Time spent choosing candidates during an active test is still included.

How is Chinese WPM measured?

Equivalent WPM is correctly matched characters divided by five and by active minutes. CPM reports correct characters per minute directly. Punctuation is included. These scores are not Chinese word segmentation or an official proficiency score.
